We've visited the big island of Hawaii several times -- partly because my brother lives there, but mostly because it is simply breathtaking. It smells clean and fresh and sweet! The beaches are incredible, and the water is a perfect temperature for swimming, snorkeling and boogie boarding. A typical trip goes like this: rent a home on the ocean for 7-10 days, and stay in one of the many luxury hotels for 1-3 days. Ahhhh......what a vacation. |

| Mornings start with coffee on the deck overlooking the ocean (although some of us go jogging -- yuck). | A quick hop over the deck to seach the rocks for new "friends." |

Afternoons are spent at a beach -- Black Sand Beach, Hapuna, Baby Beach, Snorkel Beach (I'm not certain these are the real names of the beaches or if we made them up!). We bring a picnic lunch, and frolick to our heart's content. |
| Back at the house provides some rest time, and generally every other night, we barbecue dinner. One of my favorite parts of the evening is when the kids do the dishes....yeah, right! | ![]() |

When the sun goes down, it's time to head to the deck and wait for the green flash with the sunset *g*. Sunsets are incredible, even without a green flash~!! |
| We try to take a walk downtown every evening. I love the smell of the Plumeria trees, and I love to wear one or two in my hair. The evenings are perfect. |

And just when you think you couldn't be any more relaxed, it's time to move to the hotel and get a final pampering. |
